After qualifying as a Midwife in London, Susan went on to develop expertise in performing fetal heart scans in a rapidly expanding department where she worked for several years. She was also involved in much research there and completed a PGC in Medical Ultrasound (Obstetrics and Gynaecology).

Susan has since progressed her love of art, especially in drawing and watercolour painting. She has also applied her skills to illustration and has a special interest in creating conceptual images to convey less tangible processes. She has regularly contributed paintings to Wellcome Images and Science Photo Library, and takes part in The National Brain Appeal’s annual art fundraisers.
